Fontana Arte was founded in 1932 by the architect Gio Ponti, who designed the first glass lighting and interior applications in collaboration with Pietro Chiesa. In the early years, Fontana Arte was known for its advanced glass making and stained glass applications. The Fontana Arte lighting collection includes such classics as Falena, Flute, Amax, Duplex, Sillaba, Fontana, Lampara, and 2198TA.
