Sonmi by Fontana Arte is a large circular ridged drop light fixture available in a two tone glass finish. The glass shade disc is available in extra clear tempered white satin glass or satin red. The internal glass bowl is finished in blown glass and comes in brilliant white or satin red. The mounting is finished in matt-white epoxy-powder coated metal. Sonmi features adjustable hanging steel cables and a transparent feeding cable.

Sonmi's thin saucer design is suitable for many contract projects. Sonmi was designed by Caturegli, Formica and Metis in 2006.

Fontana Arte was founded in 1932 by the architect Gio Ponti. In the early years Fontana Arte was known for its advanced glass making and stained glass applications. Gio Ponti designed the first glass lighting and interior applications in collaboration with Pietro Chiesa.
